In this highly competitive age the “safety net” of conventional course of studies often does not “cover” young workers and fails to empower them with the necessary skills matching the “eligibility requirements” of the industry. Consequently, proper counselling, awareness building sessions, motivation, parallel value addition programmes along with the conventional Degree Curriculum courses, become essential for the students to make them Job Ready. Participating in the grooming sessions and taking necessary training from the very beginning will surely help the students to get jobs when leading companies may come for the Campus Hiring Drive in the Final / Third Year (an additional support / assistance).

We believe that the academically strong students should pursue PG / Research / High End Professional Courses. The next group should go for employment through On/Off-Campus Recruitment Drives for High Ended Jobs. The Third Group needs to take up up-skilling measures through the Courses on Developing Communication Skills, Interview Related Soft Skills, Numerical Aptitude, Reasoning Aptitude, and Corporate Grooming Sessions and, thereafter take jobs.

The Centre for Career Development & Placement Cell of our college operates under support and guidance from the Governing Body, the IQAC, Student Support & Progression Committee, all the esteemed Heads & Members of Faculty from the respective UG & PG Departments, and the Non-Teaching Staff of the college. The Students' Union of the college also deserves a mention for its immensely supportive role so far. The Centre for Career Development and Placement Cell of Barrackpore Rastraguru Surendranath College also enables the students to get exposure regarding the current trends of industry and arranges Career Counselling Sessions through Career Fair.

The Centre for Career Development and Placement Cell of the College leaves no leaf unturned to enable students of the college and job seekers for Govt. jobs to fulfil their aspirations. The Career Corner of the college provides information regarding the advertisements of various Govt. Jobs and also provides coaching for Banking Services, Staff Selection Commission (MTS & Combined Graduate Level), PSC etc.
